I got a call from one of these scams the other day - an automated voice said I was being investigated by HMRC and had to ring a number straight away, or else I'd get into big trouble legally. When I tried calling back, I’m pretty sure it would have ended with them asking for my bank info and then somehow stealing my money. Proper dodgy!

if you receive a txt saying its from hmrc about a tax refund, dont reply or give any details. also, never click on the links they send. its probably a scam.

i got a call from some recorded message claiming to be hmrc india, and it really freaked me out when it told me i was involved in some tax fraud case!

These scammers called pretending to be from the HMRC criminal investigations team, threatening that if I didn’t pay up in half an hour they’d send the police round to arrest me. Complete con!

Got a call from some robot voice saying I was involved in tax fraud or something. Didn’t even bother listening and just ended the call - seemed like a total scam to me.

Somebody rang up saying they were from HMRC, saying I had to ring them back or else there'd be serious trouble! Pretty clear it's a scam, no doubt about it!

got a call from someone pretending to be hmrc saying there was a warrant for my arrest. they asked if i'd got a criminal lawyer because i'd supposedly need one for court. claimed they had proof i’d done some dodgy tax stuff. i freaked out big time and ended up shouting at the lady, which made her just hang up on me. total scam!
