I told them I know the Liverpool dialling code and this number doesn’t match at all. They kept insisting that only they could give me a review, but I told them to go ahead and do one then.

Got a call from 01744399013 just yesterday, someone was asking for me but mixed up the last letter of my name, said it ended with a D when mine actually finishes with an O. I instantly knew it was dodgy and told them straight up that no one by that name lives here. The caller sounded a bit confused but was quite polite and quickly said sorry for bothering me.

I got a call about life insurance, and this bloke started grilling me with questions. I told him to worry about his own stuff, and wouldn’t you know it, he just hung up on me! Absolutely priceless, haha!

About two years ago, I gave out the name Mr. Paul Uzzle to a cold caller. Since then, I've had nearly 10 or 11 calls from different numbers all asking for him. Today’s caller was trying to sell life insurance to Paul. I found it a bit weird they kept asking for Mr. P Uzzle, so I just ended the call.

Got a ring about my life insurance today. The caller ID showed St Helens, but the accent definitely didn’t sound local, more like abroad. I asked where they’d found my info and requested them to erase it, but the woman wouldn’t have it, insisting I’d given permission. I tried to explain, quite calmly, that under the new GDPR rules, I actually own my personal data now, and they need to say where it came from. She cut me off mid-sentence. No idea if it’s legit, but it’s certainly annoying and you can tell they don’t like GDPR one bit. This is the second time they’ve phoned me.

So, it’s not a proper scam, they’re actually operating out of South Africa, but if you answer their questions properly, they patch you through to Liverpool. They do fib a bit to get information, but you can just feed them false info yourself. To really wind them up and get your number blacklisted, keep ringing them again while you’re already on the phone, merging the calls so their staff end up chatting with each other! They get totally confused and eventually block your number.

Got a call from a woman asking about some extreme life insurance thing. I told her straight away I wasn't interested, but she kept trying to push it. Finally, I just said, "Do you not get that we said we’re not interested?" and then I ended the call.

Somebody phoned me asking for me by name, claiming they worked for the ‘life review department’. I questioned where they’d got my number since it’s ex-directory and on the TPS list. They said I must’ve agreed to allow third parties to ring about life insurance after filling out a survey. I told them to remove my number from their system immediately and not to bother me again. I've blocked the number now.
