Some person keep calling about a car accident i never had. I dont even have a car!

Someone rang me up, asked if it was me by name and said they were with AMS (the number showed up as St. Helens area). They mentioned something about a road accident within the past 3 years and asked if it was me. I said no, and then the person just said sorry and ended the call.

Received an unexpected call on my mobile from 01744350816 right during dinner while I was in a hotel in Bournemouth. The caller seemed to know my name, which is why I initially picked up, thinking the number looked somewhat local with that 01744 code. However, as soon as they asked to chat, I couldn't make out the peculiar voice and decided to just hang up. If it were something crucial, they surely would have sent a text instead. Once I got back home, I did a bit of digging and it turns out it’s linked to a PPI claim.

Someone from Nationwide rang me and even used my name, asking for more details about a car accident I'd supposedly had in the past three years, which is totally wrong as I’ve never been in one. Then he just said ‘oh sorry, will sort that on the system.’ Honestly, where the heck do these companies get our numbers and info from? It’s mad!

Heaps of noise in the background, someone called asking for my husband but on my phone, said something about a car crash. I told them there was no accident here and then they just ended the call.
