Got a call today, 30.3.2017, trying to sell some insurance for Sky dish and box. I told them I don’t have Sky anymore and then they switched to offering insurance for my TV. I told them I got 2 TVs and I’m already covered. Then they started offering cover for my dishwasher and stuff too. The person on the phone was really polite though, seemed like they might be new and just trying hard, maybe needed the job.

Sky informed me that they have no connection with that company and urged me not to provide any details. It's scary to think that I could have easily been scammed by them! Please exercise caution, as they can be quite convincing. If you are indeed interested in getting Sky Insurance or any other products from them, it's best to initiate the call yourself. Furthermore, their insurance is provided by Domestic & General, and no one else. However, reaching out to them directly is still the safer option.

This leads me to believe that it was a scam. My mother made the call today, which is Monday, 23rd November 2015 at 3:30pm.
