i generally avoid picking up calls from unfamiliar numbers, even if they look local - learned my lesson before cause these pest callers can fake local area codes when calling mobiles (do they actually do this?). so i just ignored it. funny thing, my mate who’s sat right beside me at work got a call from that exact same number a few minutes later, claiming they were from nationwide and had info about his recent car crash. both of us have blocked that number since.
