I got a call from a recorded woman claiming to be from "BT", warning my 90-year-old mum that her computer was involved in some "illegal activity" and because they couldn’t reach her before, her internet would be switched off straight away. They asked her to press 1 to speak with a specialist. Thing is, she’s never owned a computer, doesn’t use the internet, isn’t a BT customer, and her number’s unlisted. Quite the scam!
