Got two calls earlier today from this number. I picked up since the area code looked like it was from Redhill, where I used to be based. But from what I’ve read, seems like scammers can fake these codes now, which is a bit worrying. The first time I answered, they just ended the call straight away. The second time, I said “hello” and they hung up without saying a thing, no script or anything. It’s strange behaviour - don’t get why they bother. I’ve blocked the number now anyway.

Got a call claiming to be from BT saying my computer was hacked - sounded a bit dodgy straight away. So I played along for a bit, said I was helping them sort out the “hack.” Then I joked about playing a game of ‘bugger off’ and said they should start. Guess what? They hung up pretty sharpish! He asked me to press the CTRL key on my keyboard, but I told him I don’t even use a laptop. Then I asked him to send me an email with the details, but he said he didn’t have any of my contact info. Pretty sure it was a scam. I’ve since contacted my phone company and had the number blocked.

My elderly mother has been pestered repeatedly by this number, insisting that her internet was being compromised. The issue is, she doesn’t even have an internet connection! When she politely asked them to stop calling, they responded with an avalanche of foreign language insults, including a fair few derogatory terms. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour!

Yesterday, on the 3rd of December, I received a phone call from someone purporting to be with BT Internet support. Over the past few days, they've rung me quite a few times. I only picked up once and the person on the other end was really hard to hear, but definitely sounded like they weren’t from here. The lady mentioned something about BT, but the connection was so bad I had to ask her to repeat herself. She just hung up after I said “sorry, what?”. Got a call from someone with a strong Indian accent, claiming there was an issue with my ‘BT hub’. When I said I’m actually with Virgin, he immediately passed me on to another guy, also with a thick Indian accent. This second bloke said they found about ‘five people using my Wi-Fi without permission.’ I told him straight up that he was talking nonsense and trying to pull a scam. Then he started shouting abuse at me, calling me a ‘motherf####r’ a few times. So I just ended the call there.
