Got a call from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk IT support, saying they’d somehow found issues with our internet router. The funny thing is, they couldn’t even give our IP address - and we’re not even with TalkTalk! They tried to scare us by saying we had “bad junk files” clogging up our PC, and even showed the Windows event viewer to highlight some typical error messages, making it seem worse than it was. They hung up after a while, but I’ve heard these scammers can be really pushy and use all sorts of sneaky confidence tricks to fool people.
