Got a ring from a bloke called David, using a number from Peterborough. Before that, he’d just called me minutes earlier from a Newcastle-upon-Tyne line. He was going on about selling replacement windows at half price if your windows are over ten years old. What was funny is that he didn’t seem to remember he’d just called me moments before. On the first call he seemed quite convincing, but when he rang again from a completely different number so soon after, he kind of came across as daft!

I got a call from someone claiming to be David from Windows and Doors Ltd, but this time it came from a different number. When I replied with "Sorry?" they just cut off. Out of curiosity, I dialled the number back on private and got an automated message from Lifeline Medical Alerts, saying I’d been contacted by them and to press 1 to stop any more calls - like I’d fall for that! Our number’s registered with TPS anyway, so we’re already blocked from these sorts of calls. What’s the deal with the fake intro? Makes me wonder if all these dodgy companies are linked somehow.

Some bloke called claiming to be Sam from the health service. Got a call from someone named ‘Sam’ claiming I was over 70 and had health problems, so I could get a free emergency alert pendant. Even when I pointed out how dodgy it was for them to know that kind of private info, he just kept going with his spiel. Needless to say, I hung up and blocked the number.

Just like loads of others have said, when I picked up, there was complete silence. I was on the verge of hanging up when a young bloke asked if I could hear him. I said yes (probably shouldn't have!) and he claimed to be my local health care worker. I quickly ended the call, and after looking up the number, there’s no chance my local health service is based in Peterborough! Definitely a dodgy call, just like everyone else has mentioned.

Like some others mentioned, got a random call from someone claiming to be Sam, a local health care worker. He said we should have a wristband or pendant for safety and offered it for £1.73 daily. I told him we were okay. There was a pause, then he tried to repeat some scripted lines. Told him no again, and after a bit, he just said enjoy your day and ended the call.

Some guy called saying folks at our place were seriously ill with no carers around! My question is - was he just taking a wild guess about our health or did he somehow get info from medical folks or a business? Took ages to get rid of him - ended up yelling at him to be quiet!
