thought it was a cold call so I just let it ring out. later I looked up the number using a reverse lookup. from what I’ve learnt, if you pick up and the call suddenly drops, it’s usually a cold call. they often dial a whole bunch of people at the same time, and whoever picks up first gets stuck with the call. anyone else who answers after just hears a dead line or an immediate hang up.
