Just now this number called me, I answered and as soon as I did, the line went silent. Figured it was probably local, so I checked with 1471 and called back straight away. Took forever for anyone to answer though. Honestly, sounds like they’re in the wrong line of work.

Non-stop quiet calls from these people, it's really annoying. They should seriously get a proper job instead of pestering everyone!

For ages now I keep getting calls from "withheld" numbers. When I answer and stay quiet, they just end the call straight away. Then shortly after, a call comes from this specific number ★★-★★★-★★★★, and once again, they hang up on me. This has been happening for quite a few months now. Not sure what the deal is - maybe the silence unsettles them? Feels more like someone's messing about rather than some big business trying to call.

Got a call at 11:30 this morning, and the bloke asked for me by name right away - which freaked me out a bit, to be honest. After that, he launched into some spiel about cutting down on energy bills or something. Since I'm on the TPS list, I cut him off and said he was doing something illegal. His reply? He told me he wasn’t breaking any rules and if I didn’t like the calls maybe I should “go with BT, for heaven’s sake,” then he just hung up. I tried ringing back but all I got was that endless “please hold, your call is important” loop. These calls really grind my gears - it’s such an invasion of privacy! Absolutely ridiculous.
