I got a call from someone claiming to be with O2, telling me my SIM had expired and my number would be cut off soon. They kept calling me Sir, even though O2 already knows I'm a woman. I just ended the call, blocked the number, and reported it straight away.

Watch out, this was a proper SCAM! I got a call from someone with a foreign accent pretending to be Adam from o2. He said they needed to send me a new sim card because my current one wouldn’t work once the 3G network gets switched off. He said I’d get the new sim in the post the next day. Then he asked for details from my current sim, but I didn’t give anything. After that, I received a text that looked like it came from o2 with a code and a warning not to share it. I ended the call straight away and rang o2 myself. They told me it was definitely a scam, with these scammers posing as o2 and tricking people into handing over a code that lets them spend on your account. Really important - never give any codes to strangers! O2 have also made it clear they don’t ring out of the blue unless you’ve asked them to call.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be Vodafone. He tried to convince me to cancel my existing contract and told me I could pay just £7 a month instead. When I asked about the actual charges on my current bill, he couldn’t give me a straight answer. Seemed a bit fishy to me.
