Was just watching Rip Off Britain when these muppets rang me from a BLOCKED number.

I tried listening to the voicemail but nothing was there. After looking it up on this site, I decided to block the number.

Picked up because it showed as a local number, but all I could hear was a busy call centre and a lady’s voice in the background. When I asked who was calling, the line just went dead. Sounds like either a scam or a telemarketer to me.

Got a call from a woman who said she was Katie, from some Safety Awareness group. She mentioned there were safety officers nearby offering tips on staying safe. When I told her I hadn’t heard of their scheme or been contacted before, she just cut the call straight away.

I called the number after getting a text from a firm named T-MAC. It was on my work phone, which makes me think it could be some sort of phishing or a selling cold call. The message did say you could press 9 to stop getting calls from them, which is handy at least.
