5 yearsReceived a call from 01733326349 at 8:15 this morning. I picked up the phone, but there was utter silence on the line. Quite annoying, to put it mildly!6 yearsGot a call again today, same number as yesterday. Let my answerphone take it (it's my landline) and like before, they cut off without saying a word. Guess it wasn’t anything urgent then!6 yearsI dont usually give my name to strangers calling me, especially from numbers I dont recognise. This bloke with a asian sounding accent asked if i was mr ringrose, which im not. Then he tried to confirm my number by rattling off digits that werent even close, and again i said no. I could hear loads of people talking in the background like a call centre. He said sorry and ended the call pretty quick. Feels like a scam to me - if they dont even have the right number, why trust them with any personal details? Ive marked it as suspicious for sure.Ringrose6 yearsI just got a call from this number saying my Amazon Prime membership was about to end. The funny thing is, I’ve never even signed up for Amazon Prime!Amazon6 yearsi got a call from someone with a strange accent, maybe asian. he was saying he knew i'd been getting loads of annoying calls, like from ‘amazon’ or something. i mentioned i was actually getting one right then and he just hung up. sounded like a typical scam if you ask me.Amazon6 yearsWhenever I pick up, the call just cuts out and goes silent.6 yearsIt keeps ringing but when I pick up, they just end the call right away.6 yearsI wasn't really able to figure out what he was saying, kept asking but all he said was it’ll only take 40 seconds. When he then asked me to verify my name, I just said no quite firmly. He said sorry and then ended the call.6 yearsGot a call from a number I don't recognise. No idea if it's some dodgy sales pitch or something more sketchy. Honestly, I'm so over all these random calls - scammy ones, annoying sales people, and just plain harassing stuff.6 yearsTried to chat but the call just dropped with no word.6 yearsI said hi but there was no reply and then the call just cut off.6 yearsNobody said a word before the call just dropped.6 yearsI might be mistaken, but my landline is through TalkTalk. When I check missed calls using 1471, the message has changed. Before, it was a woman saying something like: "You were called today at 12:06 pm from 01733326349," repeated twice. Now, it’s more like: "The number that called you was 01733326349 today at 13:06 hours," but the digits are said all together, like ‘double two,’ and you only get one shot to write it down before the message moves on with "To return the call, press 3." It feels like they’re pushing you to pay an unnecessary charge, and if you’re not quick enough, you can’t jot down the number to check it first - maybe to avoid calling a pricey number or to use a free option you have included in your plan. On top of that, I've picked up on a tone that's similar to the old 1571 message [throb throb throb], but it prompts you to pay just when you're probably hearing a Wangiri scam - that’s a Japanese term for one ring calls. Basically, you’re on a line that hasn’t quite ended, and if you press 3, you end up calling back an expensive international collect call. So worth being careful!TalkTalkWangiriJapanSubmit Your Own Report (01733 326349)
