I’m pretty sure it was the RNIB since I’ve given to them before. Ended up blocking the number anyway.

I received a rather convincing call purporting to be from RNIB, expressing gratitude for my participation in their lottery, supposedly linked to my phone bill. The only trouble is, I'm not involved in any such lottery! They insisted on obtaining my bank details for future Direct Debit payments. Naturally, I declined to share any information and pointed out that I could manage any payments myself online if necessary. The woman on the line was articulate and seemed quite genuine, which made the encounter all the more unsettling.

For weeks, these lot kept ringing me daily. I decided to call back and found out it was the RNIB. I had already given them some money before, but instead of being grateful, they just kept pestering me. They bombard me with calls, texts, emails and even letters all the time now. So, if you’re thinking about donating, maybe think twice before handing over your details.

Kept on ringing me with no real reason, thankfully I’ve got an answerphone just in case it’s important. If it was something serious, they could’ve sent a letter instead. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.
