I received a rather unwelcome call today from someone claiming to be inquiring about life insurance. When I mentioned that I was rather beyond the usual age for such policies, the line abruptly went silent. How unsavoury! I've promptly added that number to my blocked contacts!

I reckon this is a telemarketer employing some sort of automated dialling system. It seems they call multiple numbers simultaneously and only engage with whoever picks up first. That’s just my take on it, of course.
