Unfortunately, I was stuck at work and couldn't pick up, but they did leave a nice message, which was appreciated.

Got a call from Halifax complaints team. When I told them I wasn’t impressed using the phone, they said they’d post me a letter with what’s going to happen next.

This number belongs to Halifax complaints, which is under Lloyds banking group. They got in touch with me about a complaint I had filed, and everything got sorted out. It’s definitely a legit number. They also left a voicemail.

Some bloke called me claiming to be from Bank of Scotland, asking if I was interested in opening a savings account. I told him I wasn’t and he just hung up on me. Then weirdly, over the next couple of days, I got four dodgy calls from Vodafone and UK Power Networks. Bit suspicious, isn’t it?

Picked up the phone but no one spoke on the other side. Sounds like it might be from Lloyds bank somehow. I rang back using a pay-as-you-go phone and got an answerphone, with a message mentioning a complaints manager and an extension number. If it's really Lloyds calling, they ought to show their caller ID properly. I'm going to flag this to my phone company as spam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Lloyds bank, saying another client complained about getting my email messages. They told me to visit the bank in person, and when I asked, they said that was perfectly fine. The person sounded quite professional, to be honest.

Claimed to be calling from Lloyds Bank, asked to talk to my wife and wanted me to verify her Name, Address and Date of Birth. I declined to give the DOB after confirming the name and address since that info is easy to find on the Electoral roll. The person then said they’d get in touch through the post. I’m gonna wait and see what happens!

They rang me twice this morning and actually asked for me by name! I wasn’t home at first, but the bloke spoke to my wife and said he’d ring back when I was in. They did call back later but when I picked up, the line cut off. I tried ringing straight back and a woman answered with “Thanks for calling Customer Services,” then went on with the usual nonsense about connecting me somewhere. But no mention of who or what company this was about, so I’m still clueless. I’ve blocked the number now. Watch out for this one!

Some bloke said he was calling from Berkshire Racing and that "they" would send me a red-hot tip the next day as some sort of introductory deal. The tip was supposed to be for a short-priced favourite that was guaranteed to win. But it didn’t even place in a race at the Curragh in Ireland. I reckon this whole thing was pretty dodgy.
