So yesterday around 3 in the afternoon, on March 30th, this number called me. I picked up but stayed quiet since I didn’t know who it was. Nobody spoke, but right before they ended the call, I heard an automated voice say “thank you” and then the call dropped. Quite odd!

This number rang me at about 2:30 on Thursday, 30th March. When I answered, there was a brief pause and then a man said, "HELLO, MY NAME IS JOHN. You have an issue with your internet." I told him no, I didn't have any problem and hung up straight away. He had an accent that sounded like he might be from Pakistan.

I received a call tagged as International, and it was a chap with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT, discussing my internet service. When I inquired why they were ringing from overseas, the line went dead!

Over the last couple of days, this number has rung me up three times. The caller, who spoke with a distinct foreign accent, said they were from BT Internet and warned me that my internet had been compromised. Since I don't use BT for my internet, I figured it was a scammer trying to trick me into giving remote access to my PC. What’s odd though is that if he was a fraud, he wouldn’t have shown his number, you'd think. I told him to stop calling me and ended the call quickly, but apparently he called again when I wasn’t home.

Got a call from this number earlier, they claimed to be BT trying to sort out a problem with my broadband. I told them straight up that I don’t even have BT as a provider, so they must be trying to con me. The person on the line sounded Asian and they ended the call pretty fast after that. Be careful and don’t let them persuade you to turn your PC on if they ask.

Got a call today in Leicester from some bloke with quite bad English, and you could hear loads of background noise like it was a call centre. He kept going on about my computer having big problems. It honestly gave me a right scam vibe, so I just ended the call. He never said which company he was ringing from either.

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT, telling me my internet was compromised and hackers were trying to access my PC. They asked me to switch on my computer so they could show me the issue if I entered some info they’d give me. I humoured them for a bit but then asked for proof that they really worked for BT. Not a moment later, they just hung up on me! They spoke with an Indian accent and the number showed up as international, which seemed strange since the code looked like it was from Sevenoaks. Total scam, be careful folks.

Then this morning, I tried calling them back, but a robotic woman answered just said “goodbye” and just ended the call. Proper dodgy.
