I received a rather dubious automated message earlier. The caller claimed that my internet service had been compromised and insisted that I connect with their company to prevent any disconnection. They prompted me to press option 1. At that juncture, I terminated the call. I've encountered a number of similar messages previously, typically from overseas, all stating there was an issue with my BT broadband. However, as I don't even have a BT line, it was crystal clear to me that this was simply a scam attempt of some sort.
