I received a rather unsettling automated call today, featuring the voice of a Caucasian gentleman whose tone was rather sinister. He stated that the call was being routed from British Telecom concerning the potential termination of my internet service. Following that, he proceeded to list various options, encouraging me to "press 1 for..." This startled me considerably, especially since my actual provider isn’t BT, although I rely on their wholesale services. I certainly have no intention of discontinuing my service, nor have I made any such requests. I can't shake the suspicion that this is nothing but a scam.
