Got a call from a lady with an American accent claiming that my internet had been compromised in half a dozen countries in the past three days. She warned me BT would cut off my service within 24 hours. Thing is, I don't even use BT at all. Total scam, those dodgy people!

I didn't pick up since the number was unfamiliar to me. It rang through to voicemail but there was no message left. Then, a few hours later, it rang again. I've blocked the number now, fingers crossed it works.

Got a call on my landline from someone who said her name was Annie, sounded like she was Asian. She claimed she was from BT and said there was an issue with my internet. I didn’t even respond, just hung up straight away. I’m not even a BT customer. This week I’ve had a couple more calls just like this, all coming from landline numbers that looked legitimate. Whenever I see it’s a spam call, I just block ’em.

Got a call two days running from someone trying to pull a fast one. The first time it was just a recorded message, then the next day some bloke with a strong Asian accent said he was from BT. He asked if I'd heard our internet was getting disconnected for ten days. I played along, thanked him for the heads-up, and he ended up having a laugh like he knew he’d slipped up. Didn’t hang about - I ended the call straight away. Definitely a dodgy scam, watch out people!

Got a call from 01728475434 and the guy had a thick Asian accent, said he was Mark Williams - funny enough, that’s the name of a mate of mine - claiming he was from BT. I don’t even use BT, so I just ended the call.

Been getting loads of calls like this recently. Sometimes it's a robot, other times a guy with a really thick accent claiming he's from BT, saying my internet's been hacked and'll be cut off today. They use different numbers all the time which makes blocking them a nightmare. Make sure to warn your family and mates so they don’t fall for this scam!

So I got a call from a guy who said he was calling about "call blocking" or something like that. He wanted me to sign up for this service and give him my bank details to pay for it. Obviously, it felt like a total scam to me.
