7 yearsI received a rather curious phone call around 1pm today. The caller claimed they were offering me £100 due to some supposed issues I'd encountered with my recently purchased Wi-Fi from BT. They asserted they had remote access to my laptop and instructed me to input the £100. However, very quickly, the amount transformed into £10,000, and they urged me to contact my bank to transfer £8,550 using their sort code and account number. When I explained I didn't have that sort of money, they insisted I call them from my mobile phone. Upon ringing the number provided, a woman promptly informed me that it was all a scam.
