I'm from Worcester and ran into the exact same problem with this lady. I was nearly convinced until she started talking about her "lawyer" and even sent us a tenancy contract before we'd seen the place. Thankfully, I decided to google her and found this website! She's a total nightmare, honestly. People mentioned they reported her to the cops ages ago, like over half a year, so why on earth is she still getting away with it?!

She’s still around Peterborough, trying to organise a visit for Tuesday. She’s already sent over bank details and wants a £650 deposit before I can see the place! Planning to report it to the police on Monday.

I put an ad on Gumtree and got contacted by someone named Rosemarie Grant, or maybe Sandra Lewin, not really sure. They tried to pull a scam on me. Be careful!! I managed to block them before anything happened. The story was the same - they sent emails with photos of the flat, claimed they were relocating for a job (somewhere like Coventry or Tiverton), then brought in a 'solicitor' and started asking for cash. Don't fall for it!

The exact thing happened to me just the other day. She’s definitely getting a bit cheeky, demanding £600 upfront before even arranging to meet. Every time I tried emailing her, I just got bounced back messages saying Post Master Delivery Failure. Felt fishy from the start. I made it clear I wasn’t handing over £600 before seeing the place or meeting her face-to-face. Really sorry you got scammed, but she’ll get what’s coming to her sooner or later!

I'm beyond gutted. This horrible person tricked me into sending £200 for a place that isn't real. After I put an ad up on Gumtree, she reached out with photos and info about a flat she supposedly had to rent out. She even sent me what looked like a legitimate tenancy contract, which made me go ahead and pay £200 as a holding fee. She wanted £500 for a deposit too, but luckily, I didn't have that much cash on me. Then she cancelled the first viewing, claiming she got injured at work - said she works in a care home and had to move to the West Midlands for at least five years. I booked another viewing for tomorrow, 29th November 2016. I tried to contact her today to confirm the appointment after a week of silence, and of course, she hasn’t replied. The worst bit is, this scam didn’t just affect me and my partner, but our unborn baby too. Whoever did this deserves everything terrible. The police have been informed and are on the case. Another sucker lost out here! :(

I had a similar experience with a lady claiming to be Rosemarie Grant at 688 Seahall Highway, Coventry. After I replied to her Gumtree ad, she asked for my email to send details about the property. We settled on terms, and she forwarded what looked like a proper tenancy contract, asking me to pay for the stamp duty. She even said she would cover the cost if I sent her a £25 iTunes voucher first. Thinking it was legit, I sent the voucher code, but then she disappeared, no replies for over a week. Later, I spotted another ad with the same name and address but from a different phone number. It's definitely a scam and I've reported it to Action Fraud and the cops.

Got a call from a woman named Rosemarie claiming she’s been working in the West Midlands for 5 years and is interested in my Gumtree ad. She says she’s found the perfect house and wants my info, also talking about meeting with her solicitor, but then asks for money upfront. Definitely a scam, watch out!

This person has messaged me a couple of times since February. Please don’t send them any cash beforehand, it’s definitely a con! They seem to be going through Gumtree ads and tonight I got another message from them, offering a flat in Basildon. I’ve saved all their emails, including the bank info they gave me when I asked. I’m planning to report it first thing tomorrow.

I got a message from a woman called Rosemarie after she posted an advert on Gumtree about a 2-bedroom house for rent at £750 a month. She told me she’d already turned down lots of other people, so we set up a viewing for 6pm. But she never turned up and gave me the wrong address. Then she asked me to buy her a £25 iTunes gift card, which I refused. Since then, she’s stopped replying to my messages. Honestly, I was really hopeful as I’m about to have a baby, and this woman just feels so dishonest. Proper nasty person.

After putting up an ad on Gumtree, I got an email from someone called Rose. She asked for my email and I gave it to her, but since then, I haven’t received any response. A few years ago, I went through almost the same thing where they insisted on paying a solicitor’s fee before I could even see the place. I never sent any money then. Feels like this might be the same sort of scam again.

She asked for my email to send the details over. When I tried calling back, the tone didn’t sound like a normal UK dialling tone. I’d be careful with this number.

I put an ad on Gumtree looking for a flat, and then got a text from +44 1727 260372 about one that seemed to fit what I wanted. The person, who says their name is Julian Curryl, sent me an email with the flat details and a short-term lease as we’d agreed. They claim to live in the West Midlands but have a flat near me because of work. They also sent pictures and the address to back it up. We’ve been emailing back and forth since. Julian mostly emails late at night, saying they're a care worker with a hectic timetable. We haven’t heard from them today though, and we didn’t want to pay any solicitors before seeing the flat in person because we’re only 19 and 20 and want to be sure it’s all legit. If anyone can offer advice or help, it’d be brilliant. We just want our first experience renting to be genuine and not a scam.
