I received a call from someone with an Indian accent, apparently going by the name ‘Edward’. He rambled on about not wanting to waste my time before stating he had a couple of 'yes or no' questions for me. Oddly enough, he then went ahead and mentioned my name along with my address. It’s pretty customary for proper customer service calls to introduce themselves fully and clarify which organisation they represent, like British Gas or BT, for instance. In the end, I opted to stay on the line just to see where it was going. The caller proceeded to spell out the company's name and claimed, “I’m not looking to sell you anything; I merely wanted to pose three questions!” Quite amusing, really! But I replied, “Listen mate, I’m at the hospital, so I really can’t entertain your nonsense.” After that, he fell silent and promptly disconnected. Normally, I would just hang up without a second thought, but I had a bit of spare time while waiting at the hospital, so why not?
