I got a call supposedly from 'bank security' which sounded pretty official. The woman told me there was a suspicious Amazon purchase and some overseas transaction. I hung up and looked up the number on 1471. I’m based in St Austell and the bank’s local, but my bank always states their name when they call. This time they never mentioned it. It’s easy to see how someone might fall for this, especially since this number is a landline - that’s what creeps me out the most!
