A woman claimed to be from BT, offering me a splendid deal of three months' free line rental, but only if I confirmed some details about my account. When I mentioned that I'd prefer not to divulge personal information to unsolicited callers, she erupted in anger. I promptly ended the call. To my surprise, she rang back straight away and continued to berate me. Then, in a fit of indignation, she proclaimed I wasn’t worthy of the “exclusive offer” and slammed down the phone!
