Honestly, I’m not sure why so many folks are saying this number’s some scam about a car crash. I can tell you for sure it’s actually the finance office at North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. I know this ’cause I go there and just got a call from them about 10 minutes ago.

Sounds like a crash scam. I said my tiny Matchbox Rover crashed into a Corgi Escort down at Carpet Corner. She ended the call before I could even add anything else.

Looks like a car crash scam. She claimed to have details about an accident I was in, so I challenged her to specify the date. She dodged the question and kept pushing me for info instead. I told her if she was genuinely trying to help, she should have all the facts. She hung up pretty quick, probably because she was caught out. Blocked and reported the number straight away.

Someone called me, named Emy Macintosh from Proficient Helplines, saying I'd been in a car crash. I told them I had, then got passed to some supervisor. I told them I was actually calling from the afterlife, and they just ended the call straight away.

I told her straight away that (1) I’m not interested in any scam calls and (2) I’m registered with the TPS. Before I could finish, the call just went dead (no shock there!). 01724 786 373 called me but i have no one in sci###horpe. phone didnt show the number so i didnt pick up, no voicemail left either. i already get scam calls from birmingham and never bother replying. will put this one on my block list aswell, seems like people are getting them today. just sharing it here for anyone else.

Got a call from someone called Emma at Provision helpline or something like that. She said they’d been told I’d had an accident or something. I asked which one, cos I haven’t had any accidents at all, and she just said thanks for clearing that up and that she’d take my number off their list. Bit strange really, but no harm done. Got a call from a woman who said she was from some "professional helpline", sounded middle eastern, but i couldnt find any info about that company anywhere. I tried ringing the number back and it just didn’t connect, looks dodgy to me. Wouldnt share any details with them if i were you.

This call was proper spooky, they had my name and postcode and said they were from natiom 229? but i dont even have an account with nationwide! I didnt say yes to anything, just told them straight i dont bank there and then this asian lady just hung up on me? Definite scam alert, do NOT give them any info! Dont say anything that could be true, it’s 100% a con. Watch out everyone!

Someone called saying they were from my building, gave my name and an old postcode, but hung up straight away when I told them the postcode was wrong. Seems like a scam to me.

just call back and drop it so it only shows as a missed call on your phone. from what others said i’d say its pretty risky to answer.
