Got a call about a drain cover - the woman was saying I supposedly bought and paid for one in 2019. Then she said if I settled the £249 I supposedly owe for this year now, I'd get a discount. She rattled off some numbers from a card and claimed it was a Halifax debit card I used. Really pushy lady, kept at it for ages!

They rang me claiming they were from some drain insurance company and said I had a policy with them, which isn’t true at all. Total scam, just hung up on them. They’ve been calling nonstop every day recently from a blocked number. Pretty annoying!

I received a call claiming I had signed up for some drains and plumbing insurance with them three years back-though I certainly haven’t! I didn’t quite catch the name of the firm they mentioned, but they insisted I was due to pay a final installment. I ended up hanging up the phone.

This number rang my mum who’s 94. I was there luckily and told her it was probaly a scam, so she ended the call straight away.

Got a call today from some drainage company asking if I had insurance on my drains. This is the second time this week I’ve had a similar call, but I don’t think they believe me when I say I don’t have any manhole or drain on my land. Feels a bit dodgy, like a scam to me.
