Watch out for scammers! I contacted the dealership since our car was only bought a month ago, and they assured me this is a fraud attempt aiming to trick folks into giving away private info. Best to disregard any letters from them and notify the DVLA straight away.

I got a letter with a number on it but when I tried visiting the website it just wouldn’t load. So, I decided to ring the number instead and they hung up on me straight away. Feels like a scam to me.

I received a letter from this company with a Salisbury dialling code, but the address listed is in Leeds. They claim to be linked with the DVLA. The odd part is they sent it to my late brother, who passed away in August 2020, and the DVLA already know he’s no longer with us. The letter’s dated 24th March 2021, but the ownership change they mention happened two days after the car was sold to a dealer in Oxfordshire. Something doesn't seem right here.

no need to stress. normally they ring you and then send a letter that explains stuff in plain, easy words. no point freaking out about it. just answer the phone and have a chat. you won’t get charged like some people say. it's completely harmless.

Over the past few days, I’ve had three early morning calls, all before 8am, from a number I didn’t recognise, and I never picked up. Even though my phone was switched off during those times, my bill showed charges amounting to a few pounds. I ended up having to contact my network provider to get that money back. Then, out of the blue, I received a letter claiming to be an HPI check on a car I sold over a decade ago - 14 years back, to be exact! What a strange mess.
