8 yearsOn Wednesday 24th October at around half past twelve, I got a call from 01710405231. It was a recorded scam, pretending to be my internet company and asking me to ring them back. I didn’t take the risk and blocked the number straight away.8 yearsGot a robocall saying something like "We're from your internet company, and yesterday your IP got caught up in hacking a govt site. Because of that, your broadband and landline will be disconnected in 24 hours. If it wasn’t you, ring this number straight away." Total scam, obviously, trying to trick anyone with an unlisted phone number.8 yearsGot a scam call, so I just blocked the number.8 yearsGot a dodgy call claiming my computer’s IP was involved in hacking some official government website. It kicked off with a recorded message, then some bloke with a thick accent took over, mumbling about having a unique ID for my machine. I just wasn’t having it and they hung up when I didn’t play along. These scams usually want you to give them remote control of your computer “to fix the issue” - definitely not something you should ever agree to if it’s just a random call out of the blue!Submit Your Own Report (01710 405231)
