Hello there! Just a quick note - if the debt in question is over six years old, then they’re actually not allowed to chase you for it! It’s the law! The company really ought to have identified the outstanding balance within that time frame and reached out to you to sort out a repayment plan if you were struggling to pay the whole amount. So, my advice? Don’t shell out a single quid!

If it really is valid, why on earth would they wait six whole years to reach out? I've just gone through a heart-wrenching time, having recently lost my husband after caring for him through a long battle with cancer, and these incessant calls are the last thing I need at my age. I didn’t recognise the phone number, so I decided to pass on it and subsequently blocked the caller. They actually left a message, can you believe it? They used my full name and mentioned some sort of reference number along with a contact number, but it was just a machine rattling off information, not a real person. To add to that, I haven’t received any correspondence that confirms this reference or explains who they are. Apparently, they assist folks with debt management through some monthly repayment scheme and claim to be linked to the only bank of its kind in the entire world! I monitor my credit rating every four weeks, and I can confidently say I’m not in debt to anyone. Sure, my score could use a bit of a boost, but I’m just relieved to be debt-free. It’s such a weight off my mind!
