Last week I got a call from someone called "Sean" while I was trying to book a holiday online through Skills/Shearing. He kept pushing me to confirm my booking right away. I explained I wanted to check with a mate first about the trip. He then said he’d ring back later to offer some discounts or deals. So I phoned Skills myself, but they had no clue who Sean was and their number was totally different from his. Definitely a scam. The number he called from was 01709830333.

I rang the Shearings line about a holiday and they told me to leave my contact so they could get back to me. Got a call from 01709830333 less than 10 mins later. I have this setup that blocks calls from strangers, so when they called they didn’t leave a voicemail. Lucky I looked up the number first before calling back!

A few days back, I got a call claiming to be from Ledger. I had just got their brochure through the post recently. The caller said they were following up on that. I showed some interest in a holiday package but told them I needed to think about it. Then the person said, with approval from his Manager, he could hold a spot for me if I paid a deposit of £1. I said no thanks, and he mentioned he'd call again today. He did ring me twice earlier but I didn’t pick up because I was with guests. Now I’m starting to see this is dodgy and likely a scam.
