6 yearsThis morning, I received a rather peculiar call from a young woman who identified herself as Esdxer, claiming to represent some government advisory group. She informed me that I was entitled to a compensation cheque from the government for the last two decades, with a reference number of ref00146008. Then, out of the blue, she asked for my banking details. Naturally, I inquired about the name that would appear on the cheque. She insisted that I simply provide my bank information. After a brief chat with someone else on her end, she returned to confirm the name-which was, in fact, mine. I reiterated that they should just send the cheque directly, to which she replied that they needed my bank details to ensure they had the correct recipient. I firmly told her that I was quite certain of my identity and suggested that, really, it would be best if she held onto that cheque, as this entire situation seemed rather off.Submit Your Own Report (01709 564838)
