Honestly, it feels like some overseas place is bombarding us with calls by using a British phone network that's been set up just to pass on those calls. That's probably why the number that shows up looks like it's from the UK. Someone needs to figure out which UK firm is behind this and make them face the consequences. Report it to Ofcom, for sure!

Then he asked me about my direct debits and mentioned a card I supposedly gave them which was meant to expire in 2019. I never signed up with them or handed over any card details. They said they represent all the phone companies, which sounded dodgy to me. They didn’t ask for any money or card info though. I ended up confirming my address when they mentioned it first. Got a call today, 12/02/19, from someone claiming to be with the telephone preference management service. They said my subscription to stop telemarketing calls was about to run out today. The weird thing is, they had the wrong name and address for me, then started probing for my bank card expiry date. I ended the call straight away, but they were really insistent. I hope no one else gets caught up in their dodgy scheme.

Yesterday I got a couple of calls and as soon as I heard their accents and they totally butchered my name, I figured it had to be a scam. When I asked where they were calling from, they said West London?? This morning I tried ringing the number back but it just keeps ringing off. My guess is they're actually from East Asia, which explains the odd timing of the calls. If they ring again, I’ll just leave them waiting on the line!

The first call came at 10:07am, then the same number called back at 4:26pm, followed by another at 5:34pm, and yet AGAIN at 6:10pm.
