Received a call purporting to be from Microsoft customer support, stating that my computer had been compromised and that they needed access to resolve the issue. I put my foot down and promptly ended the conversation. Funny enough, I had a similar attempt just last week...

Got a call right at 7 in the morning from some Indian scammer. Bloody annoying!

I received a call bang on 7:15 this morning from someone insisting that my computer was infected with a virus. I explained to them that it’s not possible for the Windows team to pinpoint viruses on specific machines, which is precisely why we have antivirus software to safeguard our devices. Before I could elaborate, they simply cut the line. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

So this 01709 308022 keeps ringing up hospitals pretending it's the IT support team. Just a heads up, they've been reported to Cyber Security already. Watch out if you get a call from them!

Got a call about ignoring messages on my pc and needing to log in. I told her no, cheers. She suddenly snapped, "Why?" so I just ended the call.

Got a call from 01709 308022, and I thought it was pretty funny when I warned these con artists that if they kept ringing me, I'd report them to the cops and trading standards. Told them as well that no proper window company would ring your landline at 7:30 in the morning. This Indian woman on the phone tried to shut me up when I was speaking, but I gave her the floor. She just said “okay then” and hung up. Definitely a scam, don’t waste your time with them.

Just got a call from someone saying my computer had a virus, but I don’t even own a PC. When I said I didn’t have one, she kept insisting I must have a laptop or something - obviously a scam trying to get info. I told her no to everything just to wind her up. If you get calls like this, best to just hang up or mess with them a bit. It’s definitely not real!

I’m curious as to why the police haven’t stepped in yet, tbh.

This number from Rotherham called me about four times within just an hour. When I finally picked up, they just ended the call straight away. Seems like a total scam to me, so I just ignore it now.

Somebody rang claiming to be from IT support, saying there was a problem with my computer software and needed to get in remotely. I told them I hadn’t noticed any problems and asked them which internet provider they were from. After that, they just ended the call.

Got a dodgy call on my home phone from a woman claiming to be from Microsoft. She said she’d sent me lots of messages before that I ignored, all about warnings on my computer. She insisted I switch it on so she could prove who she was and said my PC was full of viruses and in danger. Tried ringing the number back, but it didn’t come up anywhere. Didn’t give them a single bit of info. Definitely a scam.

Had a rather dodgy call, where they were trying to coax me into clicking on something suspicious on my computer. Didn't fancy taking any chances, so I politely declined and ended the conversation.

This is a total scam, they don’t care about you at all. They try to get into your computer, grab your private info and use it for their own gain. Best thing you can do is not pick up and block the number if possible.

This number rang me saying my computer was off because of some suspicious downloads. I told them I wasn’t going to turn it on, and they claimed to be from Windows. I told them anyone can say they’re from Windows so if they wanted to prove it, send me a letter. Then they just hung up.

Somebody claiming to be from Microsoft IT Department kept ringing me up, but they kept fibbing the whole time. Bit odd since I don’t even use Windows!

Total rip off. Got a ring just after 7 this morning, some bloke called Sam claiming there was an issue with the windows on my PC. Didn’t hang about, cut him off quick and told him to jog on. Keep in mind, Microsoft - the people behind the Windows OS - don’t actually call people out of the blue like that. These scammers should really find a proper gig.

I got a call from someone saying their name was Sam and that they were from the Windows 10 computer team. From what I can tell, this sounds like a completely made up name and the whole thing felt like a scam to me. My advice? Just don’t bother with it.

This number has buzzed me three times within just a couple of hours. I didn’t pick up and let it go to voicemail because if it’s something important, surely they’d leave a message. Out of curiosity, I dialled the number back only to be told it doesn’t exist. Well, it clearly does, because it rang my phone! I’m not bothering to return a call that’s probably from someone dodgy. Honestly, just block this one without a second thought.
