Received a call from +441709248738 but ignored it since it wasn’t saved in my contacts. When I finally decided to answer, all I heard was dead silence, which made me think it’s probably a scam. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Barclays. When I asked what the call was about, they just gave me the silent treatment. Then they began quizzing me on my name and where I live. Nope, didn’t fall for that and have already blocked them.

They said they were ringing from the benefits department of some “UK life insurance” scheme or something. Funny thing is, the very day before, I got the same sort of call but from a different number, 01313670137, which is an Edinburgh code. Sounded like the same kind of cold caller no doubt.
