Reporting these calls doesn’t take any longer than just sharing your experience here. While immediate results shouldn’t be expected, the cops don’t yet have a full picture of how widespread this scam is or the newest tricks being used. If folks who receive these dodgy calls and messages don’t report them and raise a fuss with their MP, nothing will change and these con artists will keep on ripping people off.

Since I'm based in Portsmouth and didn't recognise the number - it wasn’t even local - I got suspicious straight away. I told them, "This is a scam, and I’m going to block your number," and the voice replied, "Thanks for your time, have a nice day." Sadly, lots of folks will fall for this and end up getting scammed in the end.
