Somebody rang up saying they were from Vodafone and somehow knew I had a business account with them. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested in any offers. I’ve already asked them to take me off their call list, yet they still ring me annoyingly often each week. While I was on the phone, I checked this website to see if it was legit and told the caller I suspected it was a scam. After that, he got pushy and started speaking to me like I was daft for not wanting the ‘deal of a lifetime’. So, I just ended the call and have blocked their number now.

I got called three times from this number and accidentally answered the third call on 26th March 2024. The woman on the phone claimed to be from Vodafone. I asked her to prove it, and she suggested I do a Data Protection questionnaire. I wasn’t convinced and told her it seemed like a scam and I didn’t want anything to do with it. She started rushing me to stay on the line, but it didn’t sound right, so I ended the call. Wish I had checked this number with you after the first two calls, but I was expecting a call from someone whose number I didn't have.

Got a call from a bloke called Gary claiming to be from Vodaphone, sounded South African. He wanted to know who my internet provider was and already knew my name. When I asked him to prove he was really from Vodaphone, he got a bit pushy and said he didn’t need to proof anything since he already said he was from them. I rung back this number after missing their call. Properly annoying person claiming to be from Vodafone trying to push some 2 year intro broadband deal I'd supposedly "qualified for"... Dodgy call, claimed to be from Vodafone. Spoke with an Irish accent. Number has been blocked now.

What a complete con! A woman named Abigail rang me, claiming to be from Vodafone, and she had an accent that was spot on. She started by asking if I was the account holder and mentioned that the call was recorded to ensure everything was all right with my account. Naturally, I said yes. Then she proceeded to inquire about any devices I might own, like iPads, tablets, or laptops. I told her she ought to already know that sort of information since it’s linked to my account! She said she couldn't disclose any details because I hadn’t passed their security check. But why on earth would she be asking me questions if I hadn’t cleared security?! She didn’t even know my name! I quickly realised it was a scam and told her not to ring me again. It's clearly a tactic to pry into your personal information and potentially lure you into some dodgy "deal" for an iPad or similar. Beware and don’t share your details with these charlatans!

This morning, on the 21st of July 2023, I received a rather unexpected call from 01709 242655. The caller claimed to be from Vodafone, wanting to have a chat about their offerings. Now, I might be a Vodafone customer, but I certainly wasn't expecting a random cold call like this. I told them to ring me back at a more convenient time. After seeing what others have shared about this number, I've made the decision to block it altogether.

This morning, I noticed a missed call on a fresh business line I’ve set up (16 Jun 2023), which hasn’t been shared anywhere just yet. It leaves me baffled as to how this caller even got wind of this number! Is it possible that spammers somehow obtain information from phone companies about newly assigned numbers? I certainly have no desire to return the call and uncover their intentions.

Previously thought it was Vodafone, but if you try ringing back from a different phone, it doesn't connect. I’d reckon it’s best to block this number. <br> Could this possibly be a scam operation based in Rotherham?

They ring me every single day even tho I blocked the number. How is it possible it’s coming from Vodafone when my phone provider is Vodafone too? My phone even says it might be a spam call. Strange!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone. When I mentioned that I needed to confirm her identity, her tone became rather confrontational. I then requested that she send the details she wished to discuss via message, and she abruptly cut the line on me. Quite suspicious, I must say!

Got a call from +44 1709 242655, they were trying to sell me 2 years of free broadband through some videophone deal. I quickly hung up and blocked the number, definitely seemed like a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Vodaphone - they knew my name too. Told them I was tied up, and the guy said he’d call again later. A couple days on, the same number popped up again but I just didn’t answer and looked it up here. Ended up blocking it now.

I've had this number on my "ignore" list for ages now. They ring off and on, often a couple of calls in quick succession, then nothing for a bit. I find it more entertaining to mess around with them instead of blocking, but it's probs just an auto-caller anyway.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Vodafone but said don't renew your contract with them. They promised a better deal and said they weren’t familiar with the Vodafone app. Sounds like a scam to me. It came through on a Rotherham landline, so watch out and don't get tricked.

This ain't smartfix like someone else mentioned: their number ends with 665, not 655 like this dodgy caller. Maybe they just dialled the wrong last numbers by mistake. Got a call from the 655 number today but didn’t answer. Last year, I got a sketchy call from a similar number offering free broadband for a year for my business. It sounded fishy so I just hung up. Looks like these lot are targeting businesses too. Wonder if Vodafone’s numbers got leaked or summat?

Got three calls in a couple of days - didn’t pick up but they kept ringing. I’m with Vodafone and there’s been a big push to install fibre around here, so I guess they’re trying to take advantage of people confused about who to choose, even if it’s not actually related to fibre. Blocking the number straight away.

Bit of a head scratcher, but he said he was calling from Vodafone and wanted to speak with David. I asked which David, but he said he couldn’t say until I answered a few "security questions" yeah, like I’d fall for that. Then he asked who I use for broadband because he had some special offers. I told him I’d just been to one of their shops and would deal with it later. Bye bye! Pretty clear scam to me.

They said they were from Vodafone trying to offer cheap broadband deals to help with the cost of living. The number started with 01709, which is local to me, but as far as I know Vodafone doesn't have any offices in Rotherham. Plus, I’m already a Vodafone customer. When I mentioned that, they said their system probably wasn’t updated. What worried me was that they knew my name. When I said I wasn’t interested, they tried to tempt me with discounted iPads. Watch out for people pretending to be Vodafone - it’s a definite red flag.

I just had a phone call purporting to be from Vodafone, but to be honest, the person on the other end struggled tremendously with English. I wouldn’t recommend engaging with this number, so best to block it!

Total scam - they said they were Vodafone trying to pitch some cheap broadband "to help with the cost of living". When I told them I wasn’t interested, they switched to selling iPads with supposedly 30% off. I said I’d think about it and then they just ended the call. Honestly, just block them right away, it’s dodgy as hell!
