somebody claiming to be from tech support called me, saying they've found infected files on my pc! sounds like that classic scam to me.

So I got a call from this person with a strong foreign accent, calling himself Kevin Watson from some 'PC Wizard' company, saying my laptop was infected. I told him straight up that he was running an illegal scam and that I wasn’t interested in dealing with him at all. Then he went on saying I’d paid them before - totally not true! Complete scammers, just waste your time.

I've had this number ring me only to cut off the call abruptly. It's rather frustrating, especially since I'm dealing with a disability.

Received a call around half five this evening. I greeted them with a "hello" three times but didn’t get a peep in return, so I decided to cut the line. Just had a hunch it was one of those automated dialler situations. The whole thing couldn't have gone on for more than a couple of minutes at most.
