Yeah, Everest again. I’ve blocked them. I assumed double glazing companies stopped bugging people decades ago, but nope, they’re still on the case. I discovered a local firm that charges way less, about two-thirds the price. If these big companies keep up with these pushy methods, people will catch on quick and they’ll struggle to get any business.

So, this is Everest. We told the sales guy we weren’t interested in the quote and asked him to take our number off their list. Guess what? He clearly didn’t bother. Now blocked their BT 1572 number.

Once I learned about it, I phoned them straight away to cancel the appointment because I’d heard from others they won’t leave until you agree and sign for the job. They called yesterday asking if I wanted to reschedule, but I said I’d chosen someone else. They’ve called again today. I didn’t pick up and have now blocked the number - 01707 875 700.

Blimey, it turns out it was Everest Double Glazing! What a daft moment on my part-I was on the hunt for new double glazing for my front windows. My lad had some patio doors installed by Everest and he couldn’t stop raving about the quality. So, I went ahead and filled out an online form, but just as I was about to submit it, a light bulb went off in my head-I’d definitely encountered them before. I thought I had closed the form, but not long after, my landline sprang to life with calls. Yup, it was Everest ringing me back, almost as if they were waiting for me to hit send! Just a wee word of caution, these folks know how to work their charm, so keep your wits about you.

Everest doors and windows customer support kept ringing me like 3 or 4 times every month after I stupidly asked them for a quote. The only way I managed to stop the constant calls was by booking another appointment with a salesman and telling him in person to stop pestering me. He was quite understanding and looked pretty frustrated with his own sales team, especially since he’d driven two hours just to see me. Felt a bit sorry for the bloke, but Everest really dont let go once they have your details.

On Saturday, a sales rep from Everest came over to give me a quote, so it wouldn’t shock me if it was them - I didn’t go for their expensive offer after all.

Everest phoned my home while I was out walking the dog. My wife answered and agreed to have the guttering fixed, then invited the chap round for a quote. I wasn’t happy about it at all. When the bloke arrived to give the quote, I wouldn’t let him inside (they apparently stay until you sign up), so he refused to give me a price and walked off. They clearly cold call and pester random people. Plus, if you’ve got an answerphone, they never bother leaving a message.
