Still, she kept asking about the garage’s main door, side door, fake grass, and block paving for the driveway. I told her I wasn’t interested and she ended the call nicely. Someone rang asking for Mrs Byron. Since we’re in Cambridge, with Lord Byron being well-known, it felt a bit suspicious. When I asked how they got our number, they just said it was an accident. We’ve had calls for Mr & Mrs Byron before as well. Total SCAM. Why won’t the government step in and sort these annoying calls out? Is there anyone at all who can actually put a stop to these scam calls?

I got a call from someone claiming to be from "Everest," saying "as a valued former Everest customer we're offering you a free, no-obligation quote to benefit from our Winter Sale." After checking who-called and reading a few comments, I realised the Everest I knew from 20 years ago no longer exists. This new outfit is either misleading people on purpose or doing something dodgy, and they're probably using my personal details without my permission. I've decided to report them to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), which is the UK's watchdog for data protection (www.ico.org.uk).

Everest LTD. - Just found out Everest LTD has been put into liquidation. Now, there’s a new company called Everest 2020 Ltd that’s using Everest LTD’s data, which seems really dodgy. You should report them to the Information Commissioner because this is not legal at all.

Just got a call from 01707 830613, a lady claimed she was from Everest asking if I wanted new windows. I mentioned I’d heard Everest went into administration and she got a bit rattled. She said some new company took over but wouldn’t name them. When I asked why she was still saying “Everest” if it’s not the same firm, she got even more awkward and hung up. Watch out for this number - it’s definitely dodgy! Thought I’d share to help others.

Someone rang up asking for a particular person. This name has popped up loads before on this number, but as far as I know, no one by that name has ever lived here. Also, before I moved in, this number wasn’t linked to this address at all. Given how many calls I’ve had and how many different voices and accents have been on the line, I reckon these calls might be hitting a list someone’s purchased, probably for either phishing attempts or cold calling adverts.

Then, after about a minute, a message came on saying I was in a queue and my call was important, so someone would get to me as soon as they could. I waited one more minute and the same message played again. Didn’t wait any longer since I was at work and couldn’t afford to waste more time.
