I received a call from this number at approximately seven in the evening. Although I picked up, there was complete silence on the other end. When I attempted to return the call, a recorded message informed me that it belonged to the Highways Agency, East Regional Traffic Centre. It mentioned that they would reach out to me again if necessary, and I wasn't even given the option to leave a message. After doing some digging, I found that the contact number listed on their official site is entirely different. I'm unsure if this is merely an annoying call or something more concerning, but I find it rather unsettling not to have spoken to anyone directly.

It appears to be a highways firm of some sort. I can only surmise that they must have misdialled, as we found ourselves stranded on the M40 when they called my mobile. However, when we attempted to return the call, all we got was their voicemail system. Quite the inconvenience, really!
