This takes me back to a dodgy experience years ago when I fell victim to a similar ruse-someone claimed to represent Microsoft, gained access to my computer, and nearly cost me £800! Luckily, I contacted my bank right away, and they managed to intervene in time. After that debacle, I reached out to Microsoft directly, and they confirmed that they never make calls to individuals and have no means of knowing who I am or my contact details. Any phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft is simply a con. So when you hear phrases like, “Good day, Mr or Mrs So-and-so, I’m from Microsoft,” take it from me-don't hesitate to firmly say, “No, you’re not!” and hang up.
