Received a call on the 24th of January, 2018, from a chap claiming to be reaching out about some overpayment issue. My instincts kicked in right away, and I got suspicious. When I inquired about his name, he said it was 'Danny.' I pointed out that he had contacted me through a booking line, and that seemed to do the trick-he promptly ended the call!

Claimed to be calling from RVA, mentioned an issue regarding some sort of overpayment on our account. Given that we benefit from small business relief, we don’t actually pay anything, which makes it clear: this is a scam!

This chap introduced himself as Danny and claimed to be ringing from the RVA concerning our business rates. He mentioned that we were shelling out more than necessary. It raised my suspicions when I asked him to send a letter confirming this. I told him I’d call back and ended the call, but truth be told, I have no intention of doing so.
