Received a call today where the person on the line asked to speak with the "company director" - a classic sign of a dodgy cold caller in my book. The caller first claimed to be from Google, but after I questioned them a bit, they switched to saying they represented some firm called Get Found First. They were basically pushing the typical rubbish about marketing services. When I told them I wasn’t interested and explained why, the guy was pretty rude about it, even saying, "I can't believe you'd reject potential business chances. That's just bad for business." I told him that my business has been going strong for over a decade without needing SEO help, and he just snorted and hung up. I checked out their website afterwards, and honestly, for a company dealing with web marketing, it’s quite rubbish. Definitely wouldn’t advise anyone to go with them. - caller: Get Found First

I've had a bloke ring me twice just this week, the second time he sounded pretty much the same as the first call. He mentioned he'd supposedly been selling radiators last week, so apparently he’s not the same person. He said he was from Google and tried to convince me to shell out £3.90 a day to get my business featured on the front page of their search engine. But a quick look on Google’s own site shows they don’t actually offer that service in their SEO section. The caller was quite cheeky, kept talking over me and said something like "£3.90’s probably cheaper than your dinner!" Which makes me think this scam pays pretty well. I reckon it’s the same lot ringing from another Rochdale number doing the same patter.
