I've found myself in a similar pickle, only this time it was a chap from the outset. I ended up blocking an earlier number and made it quite clear that I had no interest in whatever they were offering. I mentioned that if I ever needed any information, I would seek out a proper business to help me. Yet, lo and behold, a week down the line, my phone rang yet again!

I received a phone call from a woman who implied she was inquiring about our existing life insurance policy. When I informed her that I didn't require any additional coverage as I’ve got everything sorted, she merely stated she was verifying details from last year—smoking habits, health issues, and the like.
Eventually, I was handed over to a gentleman who turned out to be a broker, and it became clear he was attempting to peddle new insurance. At that point, my frustration peaked because I had already told the woman that I was only expecting a review of my current policy, not a sales pitch for a new one. He expressed his apologies and claimed that she should have been more transparent about the nature of the call... well, she certainly wasn't!

I received a call from this number earlier today, but when I picked up, there was absolute silence on the other end. I've since decided to block the number.

Received a message purporting to be from HMRC, stating that I was eligible for a tax rebate. It included a link to click on for claiming this supposed refund. The only issue? I don’t actually pay tax! Definitely a scam, so do exercise caution!
