This number 01706314775 keeps ringing me. Whenever I pick up, they just hang up straight away, but if I don’t answer, the call stops after about 17 seconds. I heard from someone that scammers often end calls before 20 seconds to avoid being charged. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone with a northern accent claiming to be the local energy company covering my postcode. They asked if I owned the house. I didn’t say anything and just ended the call straight away ‘cos it felt like a scam. My phone had already flagged the number as ‘possible spam’, but I answered ‘cause I’ve been getting loads of dodgy calls recently and hoped to find out more.
