I'm a bit puzzled about the whole affair. I received a call from someone claiming to represent the local Council and a housing association, supposedly regarding a leak in my home. Mind you, I'm the owner of the property, but I didn't disclose that to them. When I mentioned that there was indeed a leak, the caller said he'd connect me to the right department, which then led to another chap who sounded remarkably similar to the first. He asked me to elaborate on the issue, so I mentioned a leak from my shower to see where this was headed. To my surprise, he inquired as to when I'd reported it to the Council, and when I said it had been roughly three weeks, he abruptly hung up. I couldn't quite fathom their strategy, but it felt like it might have been a ploy to extract personal information. I can't help but worry they might have a scheme to gather data from unsuspecting folks by keeping them on the line!
