Received a dodgy phone call claiming I’d been part of some accident in the last three years. Which, by the way, is absolutely false! I ended the call promptly and made sure to block that number.

Seems like I've encountered a right load of chancers, claiming I’d been in some sort of mishap - the same tiresome drivel we've all heard before. I promptly hung up and added the number to my blocked list. It's an absolute nuisance, to say the least; potentially scheming rogues, if I'm honest. I usually don't entertain such calls, but I was a bit distracted and picked up without thinking. Engaging with these sorts is pointless; they’ll just keep ringing you once they realise you've picked up. It’s all automated calls, don’t you know? Best to steer clear of unknown numbers altogether.

The caller had a thick Indian accent, which made it hard to catch what they were saying. After straining to listen, I picked up on the word "accident" and it clicked that it was a scam call. I told them to shove off, hung up straight away, and then blocked the number.

It seems I've had a rather tiresome experience with this number. They were going on about some supposed accident I was involved in - typical over-the-top nonsense, really. I decided to hang up and promptly blocked the caller. It’s all rather aggravating, isn’t it? At best, they’re a nuisance, and at worst, they’re out to con you. I usually avoid these calls, but I was in the thick of things and answered without thinking. Engaging with them is pointless; they’ll persist as soon as they realise they’ve got an active line. They’re clearly using some sort of auto-dialling system to bombard us. Best to just steer clear if the caller is unfamiliar!

They seemed really clued up on a crash that happened a couple of years back, mentioning the drivers, car models and even registration numbers. But they didn’t say much about what actually went down in the accident. Tried to convince me I could claim over £3,000 in compensation. I told them I wasn’t so sure, given what I remember about that crash. I handed over my email, but haven’t heard a thing since. Reckon they must have pulled my details from the Motor Insurance Database or something.

Got a ring from 01704 791716 earlier today. The bloke spoke with an Indian accent, was quite courteous, saying he was from the "claims department". He asked if I could recall a car crash from the past couple of years that wasn't on me. I said "No" and after a pause, he just hung up. Just a heads-up: most folks naturally think any smash-up isn’t their fault, so his tactic was spot on. Perfect for a scammer, that is.
