I saw a missed call and decided to call back. When they picked up, they actually used my real name, so they've definitely got my number saved somewhere. Proper creepy that is. They said they were from a big name life insurance firm, but as soon as I heard that, I just ended the call straight away! Honestly, why don’t the cops or government shut these lot down? Such a pointless nuisance!

When I asked again, they started getting pretty rude and told me off. I ended the call when they told me to ‘be quiet and listen’.

Got a phone call from someone named Luke on my mobile totally unexpected. He knew the name of my insurance provider, my full name, and even my number. He started talking about a free review I could get. You could hear the typical call centre noise in the background. I’ve decided to block the number now. It's a bit unsettling how they already had all that info - makes me wonder what kind of database they pulled it from!

As soon as I picked up, there was that awkward silence that gave it away. They were trying to find out about our life insurance plans to see if they would fit us. The person on the phone actually knew my name which caught me off guard. They mentioned the reason for the call a couple of times but had such a thick accent that I couldn’t make out what they were saying at first. Eventually, I figured out she was talking about Life Insurance. Then she started asking if I smoke, and when I asked her why she wanted to know that, she just hung up. I didn’t even get the chance to tell her we're registered with the TPS.
